Gentoo/Linux >=gentoo-sources-2.6.30

Post by xmw » Wed 2. Sep 2009, 05:30

Hi,

I'am using phc since two weeks for now on my Thinkpad R61 (T7300, 2GHz) with

Code: Select all

if grep __MY_UNDERVOLT__ /proc/cmdline > /dev/null; then
        echo __MY_UNDERVOLT__;
        find /sys/devices/system/cpu/ -name phc_controls -exec bash -c "echo 11:25 10:20 8:11 6:11 136:11 > {}" \;
else
        echo no __MY_UNDERVOLT__;
fi
in my /etc/conf.d/local.start and grub.conf.
I've written and published an ebuild for portage tree.

Now I can get 1600MHz at the same temperature and power consumption of regular 800MHz.

Code: Select all

# /etc/conf.d/cpufrequtils: config file for /etc/init.d/cpufrequtils

# Options when starting cpufreq (given to the `cpufreq-set` program)
START_OPTS="--governor ondemand --min 1600000"

# Options when stopping cpufreq (given to the `cpufreq-set` program)
STOP_OPTS="--governor ondemand --min 1600000"
Thanx a lot

Gentoo/Linux

I've added sys-power/phc-intel , sys-power/phc-k8 and sys-power/phctool to Gentoo's main tree.
The 2.6.35 patch is from Archlinux User Repository.
