PHCTool tray icon

It´s just a little problem which I am not able to solve by myself.... :oops:

I can´t make it work to have a tray icon.
When I try to start "phctray.sh" I get the following error:

What do I have to do?? :?:

Do you have the package "python-gnome2-extras" (or similar) installed?

Hi

I'm running under Archlinux with KDE 4.4 and I have the same issue.
I don't see similar packages name. How could I find one ??

PHCTool is made with GTK so it does not work well in KDE.
And PHCTool is not longer maintained. I simple do not have the time for it.

I am waiting for others to continue a GUI.

No, PHCTool and PHCTool2 are both not longer maintained.
PHCTool2 was meant to replace PHCTool and got some new features like the ability to load Plugins .. but like mentioned I did not have the time to keep PHCTool(2) a high-quality tool next to all the other things.

hey folks,

im currently writing on a console tool for the upcoming phc version and im planning to create a gui for it too. atm i've got to wait for some specifications from the amd and some testing from the intel side and i've got to port it to c++/Qt.
I'll post it here in the forum when its done and the phc version is released for which im writing it.

But thank you for that information. I've found this package in ubuntu and it works fine; means: i can start phctray without any problems.

Today made my first upgrade to "lucid".
"python-gnome2-extras" isn't any more part of the packages.
But no necessity to worry. "extras" was just a dummy package to install more minor packages.

So just install "python-eggtrayicon" and phctray will work and we have saved a lot of disk space. 8-)
