Re: New Ubuntu kernels with latest energy-saving patches in

We maybe could have such kernel in the PPA, if there is an "official" Ubuntu backport. But I think, if it is not an "official" Ubuntu backport the build process may differ too much and it most likely would be too much work providing such a kernel in the PPA. I think Ubuntu will provide a backport ke...

Re: Ubuntu PHC kernel testers

Thanks, but I currently have no build for 12.04. Nevertheless it is very likely that the 12.04 build will be available before the final release date (26th April) because I ordered a new laptop on which I am planing to run 12.04 when all hardware parts have arrived. I think you can expect a first 12....

Re: Ubuntu PHC kernel testers

I absolutely haven't used phc-intel a single time before, because I only own AMD machines, so I can't really comment on your problem. But phc-k8 usually installs a modprobe hook to automatically load the phc-k8 module instead of the powernow-k8 module. It is located in the /etc/modprobe.d/phc-k8.con...

Re: Ubuntu PHC kernel testers

Thank you for testing!
Can I add you to the active testers for oneiric?
Is it possible for you to mail me the uname -rvm output if you got a new kernel installed? Just copy the line in a mail with subject "PHC kernel tested" or what you like most. So I know exactly, which kernel you tested.

Ubuntu PHC kernel testers

I am looking for people who want to help me out with PHC kernel testing. As you may have noticed, we currently don't have up-to-date kernels for all Ubuntu releases. I'd like to improve the support, but I can't test all the different Ubuntu releases myself. Moreover it is not really practicable to t...

Re: Ubuntu 11.04 and PHC

The Ubuntu 11.04 PHC kernel is now available in the stable PPA. Installation notes can be found as usual in the Ubuntu Kernel PPA thread . Ubuntu 11.04 uses the 2.6.38 kernel and like Derduden already noticed phc-k8 0.4.3 and 0.4.4a2 needs a small fix to work with 2.6.38. DavidG posted this fix in t...
